What stays in your browser
The calculators run entirely on your device; no form is submitted and we keep no record of your measurements. As you type, the page also writes your measurements into its own address so the estimate can be bookmarked or shared (see below).
When you switch between inches and metric, we save that choice in your browser’s local storage under the name tilinglab-units, so the next page opens in the same units. It holds only the word “imperial” or “metric”. You can clear it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.
Measurements in the address
Because the measurements are part of the page address, they travel with it like any URL: they appear in your browser history, are sent to our host if you reload or open the link, and are visible to anyone you share the link with. The host’s standard request logs are the only place they may be recorded; we do not collect or analyze them.
Cookies and analytics
TilingLab sets no cookies. To see how many people visit and which pages they use, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It counts page views and load times without cookies or local storage, does not follow you across other sites and does not identify you. We load no advertising or tracking scripts.
Hosting
The site is served through Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data such as your IP address, browser type and the page address to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for how it handles that data.
If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply, and we do not add you to any list.
Changes
If we add advertising or change how we measure visits, we will update this page before the change goes live and change the date above.
